Haas Mill · G-code
G82 Spot Drill / Counterbore Cycle
Like G81 but dwells at the bottom for P seconds. Gives clean, consistent spot-drill and counterbore floors.
What G82 does on a Haas mill
G82 feeds to Z, dwells for P, then rapids out. The dwell lets the tool clean up the bottom so chamfers and counterbore floors are uniform.
It is commonly used with spot drills to cut a chamfer at the same time as locating the hole.
