Haas Mill · G-code
G81 Drill Canned Cycle
Feeds to depth and rapids out. The simplest drilling cycle for spot drills, shallow holes and centre drilling.
What G81 does on a Haas mill
G81 rapids to the R plane, feeds to Z, then rapids back to the R plane (G99) or the initial point (G98). Every following X/Y position repeats the hole until G80.
Use G81 for holes up to about three diameters deep in materials that chip well. Deeper holes call for G73 or G83.
