Haas Lathe · G-code
G73 Irregular Path Stock Removal
Repeats the whole profile, offset inwards each pass. Best for forgings and castings that already follow the shape.
What G73 does on a Haas lathe
G73 offsets the full P–Q profile by I (X) and K (Z) and steps in over D passes until it reaches the finish allowance. Every pass follows the shape of the part.
That makes it efficient on near-net blanks, but wasteful on bar stock where many passes cut air.

Here D is the number of passes, not a depth of cut — the opposite of G71 and G72.
