Haas Mill · G-code
G187 Smoothness Control
Trades speed against accuracy on contoured paths. P1 rough, P2 medium, P3 finish, with E corner tolerance.
What G187 does on a Haas mill
G187 tells the control how tightly to follow the programmed path at high feed. P1 is roughing (fast, rounds corners more), P2 medium and P3 finishing (most accurate, slower). E sets the maximum corner rounding.
It matters most on 3D surfacing programs from CAM with thousands of short moves. G187 on its own line with no P returns to the setting default.

G187 (back to default)⚠ Watch out
Leaving G187 P1 with a large E on a finishing pass rounds sharp corners out of tolerance — the program looks right but the part does not.
