G84 Tapping Cycle
Rigid taps on centre. In G99, F is simply the pitch.
What G84 does on a Haas lathe
G84 feeds the tap in synchronised with the spindle, reverses and feeds back out. In feed-per-revolution mode F equals the thread pitch: F0.05 for 20 TPI, F1.25 for M8 × 1.25.
Run G97 constant RPM and start the spindle in the cutting direction for a right-hand tap.
