Haas Lathe · G-code
G97 Constant Surface Speed Off
S is plain RPM again. Required for drilling, tapping and threading.
What G97 does on a Haas lathe
G97 cancels constant surface speed. S becomes a fixed spindle RPM.
Use it whenever the tool works on the centreline (drills, taps, reamers) and for every threading operation.
